Defective Vehicles: A Hidden Threat to Road Safety

In 2023, vehicle defects were a factor in more fatal collisions than drivers running red lights, following too close, or driving along the pavement.

While it is fair to say that less than 10% of collisions in which vehicle defects were a factor resulted in a fatality, a third of those fatalities were due to illegal, defective, or underinflated tyres. It is saddening to learn that poor vehicle maintenance has caused more heartache and suffering than some forms of reckless or dangerous driving.

We envision a world with zero road deaths and injuries, where everyone can travel safely, regardless of who they are or how they travel. Until this vision becomes a reality, we are committed to supporting efforts that prevent road crashes, reduce harm when accidents occur, and assist road accident victims. This is an integral part of our philosophy across the whole Muller Automotive group.

As our group CEO, Benoit de Maynadier, recently said, “The vision of Muller Automotive is very clear. By our work, our unwavering commitment, we strive to create safer and cleaner roads, therefore saving lives and fostering a sustainable future for generations to come.”

These words are meaningful and demonstrate that this commitment is a core part of our values. However, we do more than offer products. Muller Automotive is actively developing vehicle testing policies on a global scale. As vehicle technology advances, we will be part of that future, assisting all our customers in meeting the evolving demands of vehicle testing.

At Muller Automotive UK, we embrace this commitment and vision. As we introduce products to the UK market, we strive to contribute to the vital work Muller Automotive has carried out worldwide for many years. Together, we can all work to make our roads safer.
