HGV Brake Tester

The BTA/HGV CV brake tester is DVSA-approved to ATF standard and offers all the features required to conduct brake performance monitoring on trucks and buses. The brake tester features a dual roller bed that can be installed on either side of an inspection pit. It measures braking forces for each wheel, calculating the differences between an axle’s left and right sides while assessing critical factors such as rolling resistance and brake fading. The tester includes elevated rollers and a power box with a double soft start system, reducing mechanical stress and extending lifespan. It also supports parking brake testing with a capacity of up to 30kN. Key features include an electronic motor brake, automatic slip detection (to prevent tyre damage), and a hot-dip galvanized chassis with high-quality bearings for minimal maintenance. Brake efficiencies are automatically calculated after the vehicle weight is entered, allowing comparisons with legal requirements for service, parking, and emergency brake systems.
